At the beginning of each year, I find it so important to set aside time to write out your dreams and goals for the new year. If I’m being honest, I’m not that big of a fan in making resolutions that probably won’t last long or I’ll forget. I find it more important to be intentional and have a few goals to continuously work on for personal development.
With that being said, I wanted to share with you a few of my goals that I have for 2017:
Goals for 2017
1. Have Quiet Time with God Each Morning
In the past, I have failed miserably at carving out time each morning to spend time with God. My mornings usually consist of hitting the snooze button three or four times, then jumping out of bed to get ready and running out the door. I usually reserve my commute time for this. But for 2017, I want to be more intentional and have this time each morning and read my devotional. I know it’s the best way to start out the day.
I have been loving Thirty One Days of Prayer for the Dreamer and Doers.
2. Read More
I would like to read more and watch less TV (anything on Bravo is my guilty pleasure). It’s my goal to read at least 12 books by end of year, so that gives me the task of one book per month. I figured if I start out spending at least 20 minutes reading at night and less time on my iPad, I can make it happen.
3. Post on the Blog Consistently
When I first launched my blog back in September, I wanted to post consistently each week on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. I read so many blog resources that mentioned how important it was to post consistently. Boy, let me tell you… it’s a lot easier said then done. Honestly, it’s been difficult to find time to work on the blog during the week while having a full-time job, finding time to work out and occasionally squeezing in a happy hour here and there. After all, life is all about balance and I just have to get better with time management. In 2017, I would like to be more consistent and post at least three times a week. Wish me luck!
4. Work Out Consistently
Back to number three, I need to get better at balance between the blog, work, my social life and working out. I would like to be more consistent with working out a minimum of three times a week. It seems pretty doable with alternating between SoulCycle, hot yoga and the gym.
My stretch goal for the year is to run a 5K each quarter, eventually working my way to a 10K. I was in the best shape of my life when I was running consistently, so I’d like to get back into it.
5. Volunteer
There’s nothing more fulfilling than helping others, so this year I would like to volunteer more. There are different causes that I love to support, so I would like to become more involved and serve others.
What are some of your goals for this year? I would love to hear them. Share in the comments below! Xx
